Admission Deadlines for the 2002-2003 Academic Year
Transylvania honors the postmark for all of our admissions deadlines.

December 1—Priority Admission and Scholarship Deadline
Students who wish to be given priority consideration for both admission and scholarships should apply by December 1. Applications received by the priority deadline will be notified of their admission by January 1 and of their merit-based scholarship by the end of January. We strongly encourage all students to apply by the December 1 deadline.

December 1—William T. Young Scholarship Deadline
Students who wish to be considered for one of Transylvania’s 25 full-tuition and fee scholarships must apply by December 1. These awards are competitive and are based on information submitted on the application, including test scores, grades, extracurricular and community involvement, recommendations, and the admissions essay. Finalists for the William T. Young competition will be notified of their selection by mail in mid-January and will be required to submit an additional essay and attend an on-campus interview.

February 1—General Admission and Scholarships Deadline
Students who apply by February 1 will be considered for all merit-based Transylvania scholarships except the William T. Young. Applications received after the December 1 priority deadline and by February 1 will be processed on a rolling basis with notification of admission no later than February 15.

After February 1
Applications received after February 1 will be considered on a space-available basis.

March 1—Priority Deadline for Filing for Financial Aid
Students who wish to apply for state and/or federal need-based aid should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible before March 1 in order to receive maximum consideration for need-based funds.

You can get an estimate of the financial aid for which you may qualify at Transylvania as early as September by completing a Student Aid Estimator, a one-page form available from our Office of Admissions. Transylvania will mail you an estimate of your need-based and merit-based aid within 10 days after receiving a completed form.

December 5—Winter Term Deadline
Students who wish to enter Transylvania during the winter term, which begins in January, must apply by December 5.

May 1—Enrollment Deposit Deadline
All applicants who are accepted for fall term admission to Transylvania have until May 1 to declare their intent to enroll. Students who wish to enroll must submit a $200 enrollment deposit in order to reserve their spot in the class. Information will be sent with the letter of acceptance.
