Application for Admission and Scholarships We are pleased that you are applying for admission to Transylvania! We believe you will be impressed with the high-quality educational opportunities available here, as well as the personal attention our faculty and staff provide. Submission of this online application and related materials is all that is necessary for you to be considered for admission and most merit-based scholarships at Transylvania. The deadline for submitting your application varies with the scholarships for which you wish to be considered. We encourage you to apply as early as possible in the fall of your senior year. If you wish to be considered for state and/or federal need-based financial aid, you must also complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Although Transylvania does not consider financial need as a factor for admission or merit scholarships, we do encourage families to file the FAFSA. Entering Freshmen Complete this online application, including one essay option. Include a $30 nonrefundable application fee, payable to Transylvania University. Please do not send cash. Have your guidance counselor send to the Office of Admissions: Your most recent high school transcript The Counselor’s Evaluation and Recommendation. Ask an academic teacher from your junior or senior year to complete the Teacher’s Evaluation and Recommendation and mail it to the Office of Admissions. If applicable, submit official transcripts of any college or university courses completed while in high school. Transfer Students Follow instructions for Entering Freshmen, except the following: The Teacher’s Evaluation and Recommendation should be completed by a college professor, but may be submitted by a high school teacher if you have been enrolled in college for less than one year. Have a copy of your official, final high school transcript or GED certificate sent to the Office of Admissions. Have official transcripts from all colleges or universities you attended mailed to the Office of Admissions. Have a financial aid transcript from all colleges or universities you previously attended mailed to the Office of Financial Aid. International Students Follow instructions for Entering Freshmen, plus the following: Have an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score submitted to the Office of Admissions. After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.
